WELCOME TO THE SINDH COMMISSION FOR THE PROTECTION OF JOURNALISTS AND OTHER MEDIA PRACTITIONERS
Established on 14th December 2022, the commission is a dedicated body committed to promoting press freedom and ensuring the safety and protection of journalists and media workers across the province of Sindh, Pakistan.
Through advocacy, support, and collaboration, we strive to create an environment where journalists can work freely and without fear, upholding the principles of democracy and free expression.

- International Day of Solidarity with Detained and Missing Staff Members:(March 25th): This day commemorates the efforts of journalists and media workers who have been detained, abducted, or gone missing while carrying out their work, and advocates for their release or safe return.
- World Press Freedom Day:Celebrated on May 3rd, it highlights the importance of freedom of the press and defends the media from attacks on their independence.
- International Day of Information Security:(June 7th): Focuses on the importance of protecting information and data integrity in the digital age, which is crucial for journalists and media organizations.
- International Day for Universal Access to Information:(September 28th): This day highlights the importance of access to information as a fundamental right and a cornerstone of transparent and accountable governance.
- World Media Ethics Day:(September 23rd): Raises awareness about ethical standards in media practices and promotes responsible journalism.
- World Media Literacy Day:(October 24th): A day to promote media literacy and critical thinking skills to help people better understand and evaluate media messages.
- International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists:(November 2nd): This day raises awareness about the need to protect journalists and combat impunity for crimes against them, including harassment, intimidation, abduction, and murder.
- World Television Day:Recognized on November 21st, it honors the role of television in presenting different issues that affect people globally.
- International Day of Broadcasting:(December 11th): Recognizes the role of broadcasting media in communication and its impact on society.
